About the Author
Gerry Gavin is a speaker, life coach, medium, and creator of the very successful “Angels and Shamans” workshop, which puts participants in direct communication with their angels and guides. He has worked as a communication and empowerment specialist for more than 20 years, using a combination of modern therapeutic techniques and ancient shamanic practices to teach individuals how to listen to their body, mind, and spirit and help them reach their full potential.
Gerry lives on a small horse farm in New Jersey, with Gail; David; their Australian shepherds, Wyatt and Annie; and about 30 other wonderful farm critters.

If you are interested in angel communication you will enjoy...

If you have an interest in angel communication and Divine messages then you will enjoy reading this book. It is a compilation of messages from an angel named "Margaret" whose words were received and recorded by the author Gerry Gavin.
I took the opportunity to download the e-book version and found it to be one of those books I could read in one sitting. As an avid reader of all things spiritual I was already well versed in many of the concepts such as "our thoughts create our reality", and "we are all one." It is nice, however, to have this all confirmed to be true by an angel.
However I did learn a few new things, such as ideas about the evolution of the human spirit (Margaret says the original human spirit was not the biblical Adam and Eve), and the chapter on human sexuality which explains why some souls are attracted to a different sexual orientation than their gender was born into.
Is this book for you? Here is one of the messages from Margaret to answer that: "Those who have come to this book have done so because you are seeking a way to make sense of where you are in your life and of the world in general....It is designed to help you to understand three things: who you are, where you came from, and how to take positive and loving control of where you are going!"

An angel reminds us

This book sounds to me like a love letter to humanity. A very timely one at that.
Margaret is Gerry Garvin's guardian angel, the loving entity who, for twenty years, has been helping him unravel life. The book is designed to help us understand three things: 1) who we are 2) where we came from and 3) how to take positive and loving control of where we're going.
What helped create the book is something Gerry discovered: automatic writing. This is a process where you begin to write a letter to a spiritual guide--God, an angel, or a deceased loved one. Says Gerry, "You write the letter and ask advice as though you are speaking to the most loving being you know, and then--and this is the hard part--you write a letter back to yourself. In this letter to yourself, you imagine that the answer is coming from someone who deeply loves you and only wants what is best for you, and you allow that to flow." In doing the process with Margaret for over two decades, Gerry received the message to write this book in 2010, one that benefits us all with the power of its truth.
In Messages From Margaret, the angel dispels the myths that deny our personal power, and also offers us techniques to lift our vibrations to "bring us the greatest joy as individuals and as a planet."
I recommend you read this book, but I will limit this blog post to the gems that resonated with me. Margaret explains our oneness thus. "There is no one grain of sand on a beach that is any more important than the other." The myth of separation that divides us is purely ego-driven. "In the eyes of the Creator, there is no one true religion. There is no one system that better honors him, if that system sets itself above another system." She also touches upon the significance of the time we live in. "You have navigated from the agrarian age to the industrial age to the information age, and we are about to enter another age--the age of consciousness!"
The tech-savvy angel's analogies brought on many a chuckle. Talking of the power of social media, she says, "You are building a worldwide community of change that begins with a single word--share!" Free will is compared to the process of "rebooting your computer and rewriting the program that is your life. You then have the ability to save the information you desire to save or to discard that which no longer serves your greater purpose."
Perhaps the most important message for our fear-driven society, she teaches us that there are only two overriding emotions; that all other emotions are offshoots of these two. They are Fear and Love. When we feel fear, we operate from the place of greed, jealousy, anger, resentment and doubt. When love is what we're feeling, we are in the space of joy, compassion, empathy, security, passion and other positive feelings.
The book also offers ideas to raise one's energetic vibrations. Prayer, meditation, aromatherapy oils, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), massage and Reiki help increase your vibrations.
My overall feeling after reading the book was one of profound peace and well-being, a deep knowing that we're never alone. Angels always surround and protect us. All we have to do is Ask, Believe and Receive.

Powerful messages from a Gentle being

Are we surrounded by angels every day? Do we have our own personal Guardian Angels? Margaret seems to say we do. As one who was visited by two different angels -- one lovely being, right after my Sister passed, and another (just as beautiful) who visited me the morning of the day my Aunt passed (7 weeks after Sis died) -- I truly believe we are.
"Messages From Margaret: Down-to-Earth Angelic Advice for the World...and You" reminds me of another book written in a similar vein, a book chronicling the conversations between Pearl Lenore Curran and Patience Worth, a 17th-century spirit. In both cases, Pearl, and Gerry did not call these beings -- in both instances Patience and Margaret dropped in unannounced and proceeded to tell their stories and present their viewpoints, knowledge and wisdom. Neither one was fallible, but both were fascinating and wise. Patience delights us with her wisdom and wit, yet she does a major put-down of gay people. Margaret, however, gets to the point and brings an exceptionally sensitive and logical view of Gays -- however, she tends to debunk transgender people, and lumps them in with Gays. She also claims that humans created the animals, and the animals are human-like because of that. Interestingly enough, the Vilna Gaon presents a totally different suggestion -- "Let Us create the Human in Our Image and Likeness" referring to the Trinity and the animal kingdom (which in the Bible was created before us two-leggers). I for one would be insulted to think that the animals are nothing but reflections of us. So would the animals, who are tied more to the spiritual essence of this universe than we are (a talent or birthright which humans probably lost eons ago while trying to one-up or destroy their neighbors).
However, this IS a refreshing narrative, showing us that there are those on The Other Side who think the world of us and want us to be happy while here on earth. "Each person who has been attracted to this book has chosen to become the key to the survival of this planet"....."Your soul is much bigger than you could ever imagine in the confines of your physical thinking"..."live more of your life as a judgment-free being" and the interesting analogy of the fluidity of time (talking on the phone to someone who is in a different time zone- their reality of time is as valid as yours.), replacing fearful thoughts with empowering ones, and raising the vibration of this planet by action and thought. "New age is really the old ways" - the ways from a simpler time that we have forgotten. "If you lived by the simple truths" (that you learned as a child) "your lives would be so much easier.
Margaret tells us to appreciate all of creation, learn to live harmoniously even with our enemies, use prayer and meditation, and recognize the validity of others' beliefs that are rooted in God/Universe/Goodness. We all have the power to change the planet for the BETTER. Simple, but powerful statements and words to live by
